Con grande orgoglio, ecco a voi la nuova cupola di Santa Maria del Suffragio, ricostruita 'mattone su mattone' grazie al co-finanziamento delle Repubbliche Francese e Italiana!
Uno dei simboli del terremoto del 2009, la cupola, progettata nell'Ottocento dall'architetto Giuseppe Valadier, era in gran parte crollata a seguito delle scosse del 6, 7 e 9 aprile 2009! Tra il 2014 e il 2018, un complesso e paziente lavoro di ricostruzione, potenziamento antisismico e poi di restauro, ha riconsegnato l'opera alla nostra città e al mondo!
Un ringraziamento agli operai, ai progettisti, ai restauratori che ci hanno restituito questo gioiello dell'architettura neoclassica!

Full of pride, here is the new dome of Santa Maria del Suffragio, rebuilt 'brick on brick' thanks to the co-financing action of the French and Italian Republics!
One of the symbols of the 2009 earthquake, this dome, designed in the nineteenth century by architect Giuseppe Valadier, it was largely collapsed as a result of the shocks of April the 6th, the 7th and the 9th 2009!
Between the years 2014 and 2018, A complex and patient work of reconstruction, anti-seismic strengthening and restoration, has gave back the dome to our town and to the world!
Thanks to the workers, designers, restorers who have gave back us this jewel of neoclassical architecture!
